Labor & Employment Labor Relations Associate (California)

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with at least 3 to 6 years of experience to join our San Francisco office. Candidates located in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Century City or Orange County will also be considered.

Our Traditional Labor team continues to outperform and as a result, continues to grow.  We are recruiting for an outstanding associate with at least 3 to 6 years of experience with traditional labor law.  The ideal candidate should excel in the following areas:

• Union Campaigns & Organizing: Hands-on experience advising employers on union organizing drives, conducting vulnerability assessments, and managing strategic communication campaigns.

• NLRB Advocacy & Litigation: Track record handling unfair labor practice (ULP) proceedings, representation cases, hearings, and related litigation before the NLRB and state labor relations boards.

• Grievance & Arbitration: Skill in handling contract grievances, contract interpretations, and representing management in labor arbitrations.

• Collective Bargaining: Experience serving as spokesperson or strategist in collective bargaining negotiations, drafting contract language, and advising on labor agreements.

• Crisis Management: Ability to provide rapid-response strategic counseling for labor disputes, corporate restructuring, strikes, picketing, and other workplace crises.

• Corporate Transactions: Experience counseling private equity funds, strategic buyers, and corporate clients on labor and employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and development projects. This includes conducting labor due diligence, assessing successorship risks, evaluating existing collective bargaining agreements and multiemployer pension obligations, and drafting labor-related provisions in purchase agreements.
