Corrections log

Every correction, on the record

A public, chronological record of every material data correction we've made to the McCoy Hiring Tracker — false-positive closures recovered, contaminated cohort entries cleaned, adapter bugs fixed, caps lifted. We log adapter bugs and methodology changes here even when the headline number doesn't move much, because press credibility depends on showing the work.

To submit a correction, see our process. For methodology, see how we measure.
  1. 2026-06-18

    Resurrected ~1,260 false-positive closures

Across CVS Health, Amazon, Google, H&M, JPMorgan, and Honeywell we had over-reported closures because adapter pagination bugs caused postings to silently drop out of daily snapshots. Stream-C URL verification confirmed the postings were still live; they have been returned to the live count. Adapter bugs since fixed.

  2. 2026-06-18

Deleted 9 contaminated postings from "Liquid AI" cohort entry

A name collision caused postings from a trading platform also called "Liquid" to be ingested under the Liquid AI cohort entry. Affected records were deleted and the company slug corrected to disambiguate.

  3. 2026-06-18

Oracle HCM adapter pagination bug fixed

Several companies on the Oracle HCM applicant tracking system (JPMorgan, Honeywell, Macy's, Ford, Emerson, Marriott, Oracle) had been showing exactly 25 open postings — the page size of the underlying public API endpoint. The adapter was not following the next-page cursor. Real counts after the fix are in the thousands.

  4. 2026-06-18

    Workday adapter facet-slicing added

Workday public job-board endpoints cap response sets at 2,000 results. Citigroup's posting count jumped from 2,000 → 4,948 after we added per-country sub-queries that work around the cap by partitioning the result set. Other large Workday-hosted companies are being re-verified.

  5. 2026-06-18

    sitemap_crawler cap lifted from 500 → 10,000

The fallback sitemap-based crawler used for companies whose ATS adapter isn't available had a 500-row safety cap that was preventing complete capture for very large hirers. CVS Health now shows approximately 16,000 postings (previously stuck at 500).

The corrections log is append-only. We never quietly amend a published number — once a stat has been used externally we either correct it transparently here or annotate the original page.
