About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.85B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @ Rippling.com addresses.
About the role
Rippling's Contractor product powers how tens of thousands of businesses hire, onboard, manage, and pay contractors around the world—from independent domestic workers to international contractors hired through Rippling's own Contractor of Record offering. We are looking for a Product Lead to own the full contractor experience: the invoicing and payment flows, the AI-powered hiring and management tools, the self-serve onboarding motions, and the end-to-end lifecycle from first hire to final paycheck.
This role sits at the intersection of HRIS, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Compliance, and Payments. Contractors span dozens of countries, payment methods, and classification regimes. You'll need to simplify that complexity into an experience that feels fast and effortless for customers—while ensuring it's bulletproof for legal, finance, and ops teams on the back end.
What role do Product Managers play at Rippling? The product team owns Rippling's product direction, defining what to build in order to solve customer problems in a way that allows them to succeed. We do this by intimately understanding the market, our customers, and the perspectives of our key stakeholders and synthesizing that into a product that is effective, efficient, and easy to use.
What you will do
Own the product vision and roadmap for Rippling's Global Contractors product – from hiring and onboarding to invoicing, payment, transitions, and termination
Build and scale AI-first capabilities for contractor management, including AI Assistant and agentic powered invoice creation, hiring, compliance decisions, offboarding and to create the worlds most intelligent contractor platform
Drive the Contractor of Record (CoR) product, enabling customers to hire international and domestic contractors through Rippling's own entity
Design and improve invoice and payment flows, including state management, approval workflows, and integrations with Balance and global payment rails
Build self-serve onboarding and SKU purchasing flows that let customers go from signup to first contractor hire in just a few minutes
Own the contractor mobile experience, giving contractors the visibility and control over their client relationships from any surface
Work cross-functionally across engineering, legal, compliance, operations, and finance to navigate classification risk, international regulatory requirements, and payment complexity
Partner closely with engineering teams, diving deeply into the technical details of every solution—understanding contractor states, invoice states, and payment flows at the system level
Define and maintain a clear product roadmap informed by customer needs, competitive dynamics, and Rippling's platform strategy
What you will need
8+ years of product management or founding experience
Self-starter with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work on multiple products and features at once, across teams
Ability to go deep technically—comfortable reading specs, understanding data models, and diving into the details of payment flows, invoice states, and lifecycle logic
Deep analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of turning complexity into simplicity for customers
Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Strong ability to motivate and inspire people to do their best work
Relentlessly focused on customers' needs
Strong alignment with Rippling's leadership principles, particularly "Push the limits of possible," "Challenge each other directly," and "Go and see"
