Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities
Research, prototype and develop solutions to innovate and improve Qualys' technology platform.
Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance micro service-based applications
Produce high-quality software with a scalable architecture and design principles
Designing and implementing microservices which use the spring boot framework.
Working in compliance with the full Software Development Life Cycle.
Connecting microservices to interact with databases.
Understanding of how streaming technologies work such as Kafka.
Identifying and finding solutions to bugs.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Windsurf, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding, debugging, and code review workflows for faster delivery cycles.
Requisite Qualifications
Excellent programming and designing skills with 4-7 years hands on experience in Java back-end development and skills with Spring-boot framework
Good understanding of relational databases like Oracle and/or NoSQL DB, preferably Cassandra
Professional experience working on indexing technology like Elastic Search and caching technologies like Redis or Memcached
Good understanding of data structures and algorithms, application design.
Real life experience with Continuous Delivery principles and related tools (Kubernetes, AKS, Docker)
Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants (Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar) and the ability to effectively use them for rapid prototyping, code generation, and productivity gains.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor or master's degree in computer science
Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to measurably reduce development cycle time.
