Workers’ Compensation Attorney (Staff Attorney)

Position Summary

Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its Workers’ Compensation practice in our Cleveland office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing a focused practice while working alongside an experienced team representing employers in workers’ compensation matters.

The Staff Attorney will support the firm’s Workers’ Compensation team in handling a variety of litigation matters and administrative proceedings. Responsibilities will include managing an assigned caseload; representing clients in matters before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, courts, and other applicable agencies; preparing for and attending administrative hearings and court proceedings; conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents; reviewing medical records and claim files; communicating directly with clients; and assisting with all aspects of case strategy and preparation.

Qualifications:

• Prior workers’ compensation experience is preferred, but candidates with relevant litigation, employment, insurance defense, or administrative hearing experience are encouraged to apply

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively

• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing responsive, high-quality client service

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in Ohio and in good standing

This position is classified as a Staff Attorney, a non-partnership-track attorney role. The position offers the opportunity to build substantive experience, take ownership of matters, work directly with clients, and become an integral member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice.

The salary range for this position Is $100,000 - $120,000
