Lyten is seeking a Facility & Utility Technician with experience in fire protection systems. In this role you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and improvement of facility, utility and fire protection systems supporting production and office environments. Ensures buildings, utilities and life safety systems are maintained in compliance with Swedish regulations, company standards and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Overall areas of responsibilities and activities
Maintain and improve facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, compressed air, utilities, and building infrastructure.
Maintain, inspect and test fire protection systems including fire alarms, smoke detection, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and fire water infrastructure.
Support the site's Systematiskt Brandskyddsarbete (SBA) through inspections, documentation and corrective actions.
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliable operation of facility and safety systems.
Coordinate contractors, service providers and regulatory inspections.
Support facility projects, equipment installations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records and regulatory compliance documentation.
Respond to facility, utility and fire system incidents and participate in emergency preparedness activities.
Collaborate with Production, EHS and Engineering to maintain a safe and efficient workplace
Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience maintaining industrial fire protection and life safety systems.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility or maintenance.
Experience working with fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems and emergency lighting systems.
Experience supporting Systematiskt Brandskyddsarbete (SBA).
Experience coordinating fire protection inspections, testing and maintenance activities.
Understanding of active and passive fire protection principles in industrial facilities.
Ability to manage external fire protection contractors and service providers.
Technical education in maintenance, utilities, or facility systems (or equivalent work experience).
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
Familiarity with local building and safety codes.
Experience maintaining compressors and process air distribution systems.
Experience in clean & dry room environment.
Experience in managing contractors and external vendors.
Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
Experience with maintenance of facility fire protection systems and regulations for these systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Specific skills
Strong understanding of fire protection and life safety systems.
Knowledge of SBA, fire prevention practices and emergency response planning.
Troubleshooting skills for facility, utility and fire protection systems.
Understanding of electrical distribution, industrial ventilation and building systems.
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
Knowledge of LOTO, permit-to-work processes and industrial safety standards.
Competent to work on low-voltage electrical systems.
