Wolf Greenfield is currently accepting Technology Specialist Intern (Life Sciences) applications for our 2027 Summer Program in our Boston and New York offices supporting our Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Chemical & Materials Technologies groups.
What You'll Own:
Help review technical disclosures and participate in client interviews to understand new inventions
Search literature and patent databases to support patentability assessments
Contribute to drafting sections of patent applications
Help prepare responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Support the development of arguments for patentability to Patent Office Examiners
Assist with reviewing patents as part of IP due diligence
Help review and interpret contracts
What to Expect:
Hands-on involvement of supervisors throughout each project, building skills through direct feedback and revision
Collaboration with practitioners across experience levels
Fixed deadlines set by the Patent Office, with several matters in progress at once
Exposure to a range of unfamiliar technologies over the course of the summer
Instruction in patent law and procedure; no prior legal background is required
Who You Are:
A current student in a PhD program (class of 2028) or recent graduate with a PhD degree in biology, molecular biology, chemical biology, organic chemistry, or chemistry
Interested in exploring IP and Patent Law through a 10-week summer program
Someone with sound judgment, maturity, strong work ethic, inquisitive nature, and the ability to juggle multiple job responsibilities
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. The 2027 Summer Program will run from Monday, May 17, 2027 - Friday, July 23, 2027. Candidates must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a PhD graduate program.
