Litigation Legal Secretary

Position Overview
Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our Cleveland office. This person must have prior litigation secretarial experience in a law firm environment and possess strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. This role requires a team-oriented professional who is flexible, detail-oriented, and able to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
This is a hybrid position requiring both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare court filings for state, federal, and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings
Proofread and edit legal documents with strong attention to detail, formatting, and grammar accuracy
Create tables of authorities and tables of contents for briefs and other legal documents
Schedule and coordinate depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and attorney meetings
Maintain attorney calendars and assist with travel arrangements as needed
Open new client matters, assist with conflict checks, and maintain electronic and physical client files
Prepare and process billing, expense reports, and other administrative requests
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, attorneys, and internal staff
Prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive assignments in a high-volume environment
Work collaboratively with administrative support staff and contribute to overall team and office objectives
Maintain confidentiality regarding client matters, attorney work product, and firm information
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Ohio and Federal court rules and procedures
Minimum of three years of litigation legal secretary or legal assistant experience within a law firm environment
Experience with e-filings and other court filing procedures
Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document styling, tables, bookmarking, and formatting
Strong proofreading and editing abilities with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, clients, and co-workers
Strong sense of professionalism, responsiveness, and confidentiality

Compensation
Starting compensation for this position is $65,000+ annually. Compensation will be commensurate with years of experience, relevant litigation support experience, technical skill set, and overall qualifications.
