Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for a Payroll Coordinator. This position supports the firm-wide payroll function and processes the multi-state, semi-monthly payrolls. This position reports to the Payroll/HRIS Manager for day-to-day management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process Semi-monthly payrolls.
Process end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried employees, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll data. Audit employee timesheets submitted and interact with supervisors to verify data and resolve discrepancies. Ensure accuracy of federal, state, and local taxes, employee benefit contributions, fringe benefits, garnishments and other deductions on employee paychecks. Process and communicate garnishment information to all parties.
2. HRIS Data Base
Responsible to enter and maintain documents and data firmwide HRIS, including, initial employment entry, payroll information, time sheets, vacation and leave information, etc. Monitor impact of changes in the system and ensure that all associated fields are updated and individual history screens are correct.
3. Reports
Reconcile and generate reports for each payroll. Prepare monthly staffing and FTE reports for accounting to distribute to partners, firm management committee, and administrative cabinet. Reports related to Bureau of Labor & Statistics. Develop other reports as needed.
4. Miscellaneous Payroll Responsibilities
Respond to questions and inquiries from all levels of firm personnel on matters related to areas of responsibility. Respond to written verifications of employment. Enter all payroll related invoices into accounting system.
5. Other

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES

Technical Knowledge
Must have two years of experience supporting a full-scope multi-state payroll (at least 100 personnel preferred). Must have excellent computer skills, experience using spreadsheet programs. Workday HCM experience preferred. Working knowledge of data base software and basic programming language preferred. Must have the ability to learn advanced functions of HRIS data base software and programming/report writing language. Must have analytic accounting/math skills. Must be proficient in using spreadsheet, data base, and word processing software programs and record keeping programs in a Windows-based environment.
Physical and Mental Capabilities
Must be able to operate a telephone, personal computer (PC), photocopy machine, 10-key adding machine by touch, and other general office equipment. Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information. Must be able to communicate information and ideas effectively and to communicate clearly and tactfully. Must be able to handle multiple projects with variables that are subject to change, and analyze information rapidly. Must be able to express ideas clearly, using good grammar, language, and terminology. Must be able to read and comprehend hand written and typed notes or instructions. Must be able to type on a computer keyboard in a sitting position for extended periods of time during the workday.
NORMAL WORK HOURS
This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation. Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday. Ability to work outside of regular office hours, sometimes on short notice, is important.

The pay range for this position is $56,000 - $98,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
