Job Summary & Objectives
The IT Delivery Manager is responsible for implementing best practices for IT delivery and serves as a critical link between technical teams and ensuring fulfilment of business and technical objectives. This role involves coordinating the delivery of IT projects, system enhancements, business-as-usual activities, and break-fix tasks ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. Key responsibilities include managing team members, liaising with IT stakeholders, supervising execution, and ensuring adherence to established quality standards.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Planning
Implement best in class processes and procedures driving IT delivery, ensuring a continual improvement mindset
Lead or support IT planning activities including defining work plans, resource needs, and timelines for IT activities across multiple initiatives
Execution
Manage and support the delivery of IT initiatives across multiple teams and work types
Coordinate and guide delivery activities using agile principles and the appropriate approach, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid, depending on the nature of the work.
Track milestones and deliverables across the IT portfolio to ensure that work stays on schedule and within budget
Change Management
Manage scope changes internally in IT and from outside stakeholders and ensure appropriate due diligence is followed, including overall IT Delivery impact analysis
Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, support, QA, and product teams to ensure alignment on deliverables and timelines.
Provide oversight to ensure updates are regularly communicated by IT to various stakeholders, i.e. Business Relationship Managers and Project Management Office on IT delivery status, issues, risks and accomplishments of IT Delivery tasks
Act as a primary point of contact for Project Management Office, understanding needs and expectations and managing the information flow to and from IT
Risk Management
Monitor ongoing delivery to identify risks, blockers, or changes in scope and adjust plans accordingly
Reporting
Provide delivery visibility through tools such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
Creation and distribution of reporting that provides metrics and insights into overall IT delivery progress and performance.
Communication
Communicate delivery status and issues to IT stakeholders, surfacing needs for decision-making or escalation
Quality
Mentor IT Delivery team members to build a high performing delivery team
Ensure that deliverables and work product meet the required quality standards
Establish feedback mechanism to improve delivery processes
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Skills and Experience
7+ years of experience in IT delivery or coordination roles involving cross-functional teams
Familiar with both Agile (including Scrum) and Waterfall delivery methods
Solid understanding of SDLC and how IT initiatives move from planning through implementation
Experience using common delivery and tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, ServiceNow)
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple streams of work and competing priorities
Effective communication and collaboration with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership
Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting needs, and varying levels of project complexity
Relevant certifications (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, ITIL, or similar) are a plus
Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
