Key details
Job Description
Since our founding, we’ve delivered over $1 billion in funding to more than 1 million customers and saved them over $500 million. At Possible, we’re building a new kind of consumer finance company, one that helps people stay out of debt rather than profit from keeping them in it.
About the Role
We’re looking for Senior Backend Software Engineers, to join our team in Seattle. You’ll design, build, and own high-performance services used by hundreds of thousands of real customers. You’ve built consumer products at scale, you take pride in what you ship, and you know how to work well with others to get complex things done.
We’re also looking for engineers who are already experienced building software with AI. That’s not a bonus here. It’s how we work.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Framework, and gRPC
- Lead complex technical projects from conception to production
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to architecture decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship new features
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews
- Own production issues through to resolution
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years with Java and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud)
- Strong experience with gRPC and protocol buffers
- Deep familiarity with microservice architecture and AWS
- Experience building consumer products at scale
- Hands-on experience integrating or building with AI technologies
- Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, distributed team
Nice to Have
- Event-driven architecture experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Payment processing or financial systems background
- GraphQL implementation experience
- CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
