Job Description
The primary role of the Pricing Analyst is to create, monitor and analyze pricing proposals and matter budgets. This position reports to the Manager of Strategic Pricing. This role is ideal for a data-savvy individual with strong Excel skills, experience working with AI tools, keen attention to detail, and an interest in law firm economics and financial strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the preparation and analysis of pricing proposals and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) for new business and client retention.
Create matter budgets, pricing models and profitability analyses.
Maintain and update internal pricing databases, rate cards, and other pricing-related materials.
Run and interpret reports from financial systems (e.g., Aderant) and pricing tools (e.g., Iridium and Clocktimizer)
Assist with data visualization, dashboards and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Support the Firm’s annual rate-setting process and administer billing rates throughout all practice areas.
Develop tools and processes to streamline manual workflows.
Collaborate with others in the Firm on reporting and analysis of pricing and matter budgets while also building strong working relationships with key decision-makers throughout the Firm.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic, Business Administration or related field.
0-2 years of professional experience, ideally in pricing, financial analysis, or in a law firm or professional services environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups); PowerPoint and Word.
Experience with financial systems and tools such as Aderant, Tableau/Power BI or similar platforms a plus
Experience with configuring and leveraging AI tools desired
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and organization skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both financial and non-financial audiences.
Genuine interest in legal industry and law firm profitability.
Self-motivated, eager to learn and grow
Strong multitasking abilities while competing deadlines.
Team-oriented with a strong client service mindset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location.
