Corporate Associate

O’Melveny’s Silicon Valley office is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of experience to join our M&A Practice Group.  Our clients range from startups, midsize and large public and private companies to venture capital and private equity investors, and investment banks.  We represent them in a broad range of transactions, across a variety of sectors in the technology and life sciences industries.

Candidates should have a corporate transactional background, including experience in venture capital and M&A.  Candidates should have familiarity with formation and continuing representation of technology companies, have worked with venture financing documents and will have worked on M&A transactions.  Candidates must be able to draft and negotiate venture financing documents and support M&A and capital markets transactions.  Candidates should be able to handle routine corporate requests and establish working relationships with ongoing clients.  Candidates must have the ability to interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel.

Strong academic credentials, exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills are required.  Candidates must be comfortable with deal teams, value teamwork and collaboration, but also be able to handle individual responsibilities. Background in securities, M&A and venture capital transactions is required.

The salary range in Silicon Valley for this role is $260,000-$310,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting (and excludes target bonus amounts).  The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
