Job Description
By submitting your resume, you’re expressing interest in our 2027 RDSS (Research and Development Substitute Services) program. Please confirm your eligibility with the local district office before applying the role.
Today, NVIDIA is tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what's never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world's best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you'll be immersed in a diverse, encouraging environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work.
We're looking for dedicated engineers who are passionate about Data Center servers to join our Firmware Application Engineering team as an RDSS intern. This role is a great fit for software engineers with broad curiosity across software and firmware who also enjoy getting close to the hardware — bringing up real platforms, tracing issues down through firmware and into silicon, and seeing how it all comes together in production. You'll work directly with customers and partners on NVIDIA-based Data Center platforms, gaining hands-on experience across the full product life cycle from design review through mass production.
What you'll be doing:
Support customers and partners through the full Data Center product life cycle, from project kick-off and design review to mass production.
Help validate that partner BIOS, BMC, and UEFI implementations follow NVIDIA specifications and requirements.
Assist with platform bring-up and perform first-level triage on firmware, hardware, and networking issues.
Collaborate with NVIDIA engineering experts to support customer questions on manufacturing and quality assurance.
Build solid understanding of the software and firmware stack on Data Center servers and apply CPU/GPU and Network fundamentals to support customer engagements.
Help create and deliver technical training materials to support customers adopting new NVIDIA technologies.
Domestic and overseas travel required as needed.
What we need to see:
Pursuing a MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with Linux-based development and operations.
Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Python
Genuine interest in Data Center firmware and software technologies — BMC, BIOS, secure boot, and related areas.
Excellent communication skills, with flexibility in task assignment and the ability to work under pressure.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Hands-on experience with embedded Linux platforms and firmware development.
Strong issue analysis and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
