We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Member of Technical Staff 2 (MTS2) to join our Nutanix Database Service (NDB) Regression QA team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and high quality of NDB across continuous release cycles. You will take ownership of executing, triaging, and optimizing automated regression test suites that validate complex database operations across multiple engines (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). The NDB Regression team is a critical pillar within NDB Engineering, acting as the final quality gate for our releases. Our team is customer-engrossed, relying heavily on data-driven execution, comprehensive test management and automated CI/CD pipelines to provide timely feedback to development teams.

Your Role
Test Execution & Triage: Execute automated regression tests across multiple database engines using the Python. Perform first-level triage of test failures, investigate NDB and DBServer logs, and accurately report product or automation bugs in JIRA.
Automation Maintenance: Collaborate with component QA leads to maintain and stabilize existing regression suites. Ensure tests are compliant and run seamlessly through our execution engine.
Resource & Pipeline Optimization: Contribute to optimizing test execution times and cluster resource utilization to improve the overall efficiency of our regression pipelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the core development and QA teams to reproduce complex corner cases, validate bug fixes, and integrate newly automated tests into the core regression pool.
Status Tracking: Maintain clear execution history, track automation quality indices, and provide data-driven readiness updates for upcoming NDB releases.

What You’ll Bring
Experience: 3+ years of experience in Software QA and Automation, preferably testing database products, virtualization, or enterprise storage
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on programming skills in Python and Bash scripting, with experience maintaining automated test frameworks.
Domain Knowledge: Good operational understanding of at least one major database engine (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration.
Tools & Infrastructure: Experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), test management systems, bug tracking systems (JIRA), and version control (Git/GitHub).
Behavioral Competencies: A quick learner and self-starter with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. You should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage task prioritization effectively.
