The Opportunity
Nutanix is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Developer to join its Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) team. The Nutanix Database Service (NDB) provides a unified platform to manage and operate databases at scale through an intuitive user interface and REST API, supporting both open-source and enterprise database engines. The platform enables organizations to standardize database operations while improving efficiency, scalability, agility, and cost-effectiveness across the entire database lifecycle, including provisioning, high availability, patching, scaling, upgrades, backup and recovery, and database cloning.

What You Will Bring
Architect, design, and develop core components of a multi-cloud, hybrid Database-as-a-Service platform.
Analyze and understand developer-centric database use cases and translate them into scalable and innovative technical solutions.
Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly features and APIs.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, documentation, and product management, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Participate in the complete secure software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through design, implementation, testing, and production deployment.
Ensure system designs are scalable, maintainable, robust, and aligned with long-term product strategy.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in developing microservices-based architectures, Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications.
Experience in enterprise software development in one or more of the following areas: RESTful APIs (including OpenAPI specifications), workflow management systems, orchestration platforms, or database management systems.
Strong programming expertise in at least one of the following languages: Go, Java, Python, or C++.
Demonstrated ability to write efficient, high-quality code and perform thorough code reviews.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
