Mistral is committing to own-capacity compute at gigawatt scale, meaning it is betting on being a physical infrastructure operator and not just a model company renting cloud time.
Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms.
We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited.
Mistral Cloud builds and operates the infrastructure that powers Mistral's AI. The Data Centers team signs long-term leases for data center capacity developed by third-party operators, sources the GPUs that fill those halls, and runs the workloads that train and serve Mistral's models. Today the team is around 40 people, mainly based in Paris with some remote members, and operates roughly 200 MW of existing capacity across France. Key partners include Éclairion in France and EcoDC in Sweden, which is currently delivering Mistral's first Swedish data center.
The team sits at the center of an ambitious roadmap: Mistral has publicly committed to securing one gigawatt of data center capacity globally by 2030. With 200 MW already online, roughly 800 MW remain to be secured over the next five years.
Mistral's cheapest and best-tailored capacity is the capacity planned furthest ahead. This hire builds the partnerships that make that possible: long-term relationships with infrastructure funds, data center developers, and landowners who acquire sites, secure grid connections, and construct bespoke facilities on Mistral's behalf, three to four years before the first GPU is installed.
You will define the collaboration principles that govern this ecosystem. You will structure partnerships where third parties carry development risk and Mistral locks in capacity designed to its technical specifications. The role is part strategist, part negotiator, part ecosystem builder.
Negotiate long-term capacity partnerships with infrastructure funds, data center companies, and landowners across Europe
Define collaboration principles and contractual frameworks that allow third parties to develop data centers on Mistral's behalf
Structure bespoke data center designs so that power, cooling, and layout are tailored to Mistral's technical needs
Build a pipeline of development sites: land acquisition, grid connection, and construction timelines planned three to four years out
Align partnership strategy with Mistral's science and infrastructure roadmaps
You have built infrastructure partnerships. You have negotiated long-term capacity or development agreements with data center operators, infrastructure funds, or similar counterparties.
You think in multi-year horizons. You have planned capacity three to five years ahead and understand how early commitment reduces cost and improves design control.
You can define frameworks, not just close deals. You have created collaboration models that align third-party incentives with your own technical and commercial requirements.
You operate across European markets. You have worked across multiple jurisdictions and understand the regulatory and permitting landscape for data center development.
