Lead Mechanical Engineer

<p>We are looking for engineers who want to see their ideas and innovations become the products that define the next generation of computing. Successful candidates will have experience in the end-to-end product development cycle from concept ideation and requirements discovery to product launch and production (we’ll help you come up to speed on the quantum side of things).</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Design and development of Maybell products from the ground up</li>
<li>Ideate system and sub-system concepts and perform trade-off analysis to determine the best solutions.</li>
<li>Translate high level customer needs into product and technical requirements and use them to drive design decisions.</li>
<li>Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.</li>
<li>Maintain ownership over sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.</li>
<li>Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality products</li>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering field, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>10-15 years of working experience in a mechanical design role, preferably with capital equipment and machine design</li>
<li>Exceptional CAD and product documentation skills</li>
<li>Experience with designing machined components, sheet metal and weldments with an emphasis on DFM</li>
<li>Self-starter with ability to drive results independently</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to bring complex products from concept to production</li>
<li>Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to adapt and perform in a fast paced and dynamic organization.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software</li>
<li>Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard</li>
<li>Experience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)</li>
<li>Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.</li>
<li>Machine shop and fabrication skills</li>
<li>A strong understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product architectures</li>
