Job Description
Become a part of Intuit's 'Builder Catalysts' community as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and contribute to our mission of powering global prosperity. Our Builder Catalysts are distinguished by their extreme ownership and co-creation with cross-functional partners throughout the entire product lifecycle from initial ideation and customer research to rapid experimentation and final execution.
We are searching for a highly influential, frontend-anchored Senior Staff Engineer to drive the next generation of Clickstream, the platform that captures, models, and serves behavioral signal across every Intuit surface. Behavioral data is the foundation for personalization, experimentation, growth analytics, and AI-native experiences; the instrumentation layer that produces it must be correct, complete, and effortless for hundreds of product teams to adopt.
You will own the client-side capture experience end to end: the SDKs and tracking libraries embedded in web and mobile products, the event taxonomy that gives that data meaning, and the contract between the client and the high-volume pipelines that move events downstream. This is a frontend-deep role, but the person in it must reason fluently across the full path, from a React component firing an event to that event landing, validated and governed, in the data platform. Getting that boundary right is the job.
Responsibilities
Drives the technical direction of a frontend platform and the SDKs, client libraries, and developer-facing APIs that hundreds of product teams build on.
Owns the architecture of complex, reusable frontend systems, component frameworks, client SDKs, and shared libraries - making them easy to adopt, hard to misuse, and safe to evolve.
Sets the bar for frontend craft: performance, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability of code that ships inside many other teams' applications.
Designs the client/server contract and integrates cleanly with backend services and data pipelines - owning how the frontend talks to the backend, not just the frontend itself.
Drives significant technology initiatives end-to-end, including horizontal layers of the architecture, and contributes outside their primary area of ownership with a boundaryless mindset.
Partners with cross-functional teams to translate product and customer needs into durable technical solutions.
Creates robust, scalable, and secure technical designs, balancing short-term delivery with long-term durability, and ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Applies AI pragmatically in the experiences being built and in how AI accelerates engineering work with a clear-eyed view of where it adds value.
Raises the engineering bar across teams through design reviews, mentorship, and technical influence.
Qualifications
8+ years building production software, with deep frontend expertise and demonstrated impact at platform or framework scale.
Expert-level command of modern frontend: JavaScript/TypeScript and React , plus a real understanding of browser internals, the rendering/event model, performance, and how to ship reliable code inside other teams' applications.
Strong, demonstrable backend fluency is required - not optional. You should be comfortable reasoning about distributed systems, event streaming and pipelines, APIs, schemas, and delivery guarantees, and able to operate confidently on both sides of the client/server boundary. Experience with Java ecosystem on the backend is a strong plus.
Experience designing or owning SDKs, client libraries, or developer-facing platforms consumed by many internal teams.
Experience with high-volume event or analytics infrastructure e.g. clickstream/telemetry pipelines, streaming systems, or tools such as Segment, Amplitude, Kafka/EventBus-style buses, or equivalents.
Strong instinct for data quality, schema/taxonomy design, observability, and the failure modes of data capture at scale.
Ability to drive velocity in a highly matrixed environment, partnering with numerous stakeholders and influencing without authority.
Mobile instrumentation experience (iOS/Android or React Native) is a plus.
Prior experience with privacy, consent, and data governance in a regulated environment is a plus.
Hands-on experience applying AI/LLM tooling (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to engineering workflows, and familiarity with how behavioral data feeds AI-native product experiences.
Prior experience in a cloud computing environment (AWS/GCP) is highly desired.
BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
