We’re looking for a Staff Database Administrator/Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and scalability of our data platform. You’ll work across high-volume transactional and analytical systems, lead performance optimization efforts, and bring an infrastructure-as-code mindset to how we provision and manage databases. This role suits someone who thrives on solving hard problems in complex, large-scale environments.
Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and operate RDBMS systems supporting mission-critical workloads
Own database performance tuning end to end — query optimization, indexing strategy, connection management, partitioning, and capacity planning
Manage high-scale, complex OLTP and OLAP environments, ensuring availability, durability, and predictable performance under load
Define and maintain database infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, including AWS CDK (e.g., CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation) for repeatable, version-controlled provisioning
Establish and enforce standards for backups, disaster recovery, replication, high availability, and security
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production database issues, including root-cause analysis of complex incidents
Partner with engineering teams on schema design, data access patterns, and query best practices
Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, and scaling initiatives with minimal disruption
Qualifications
== Required Qualification ==
At least 10+ years' experience designing/maintaining database systems.
Strong hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL and relational database management systems
Proven track record operating high-scale, complex OLTP and OLAP database environments
Deep expertise in database performance tuning and optimization
Experience managing database infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling,including AWS CDK
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based database services (e.g., RDS/Aurora, networking, IAM, security groups, monitoring)
Solid understanding of high availability, replication, backup/recovery, and data security
Ability to operate effectively in production environments with strong incident-response instincts

BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Thorough understanding of database architecture.
Hands-on Experience in AWS Cloud technologies.
Working Knowledge or experience with Starrocks database
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra and ) and knowing when to apply them alongside relational systems
Experience integrating database changes into CI/CD pipelines (automated migrations, schema versioning, testing)
Demonstrated complex problem-solving ability in ambiguous, large-scale systems
Exposure to observability/monitoring tooling and scripting/automation for database operations
Experience collaborating closely with software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
