Job Description
As Principal, Business Operations, you will be the strategic operating backbone of Platform Marketing -- turning operating data into insights and actions that inform strategy, and partnering directly with the CMO to run the org with clarity and velocity. This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and analytics, is deeply comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced SaaS environment, and brings a strong understanding of marketing strategy within the tech industry.
Responsibilities
1. Budget Strategy, ROI & Investment Reporting -
Drive how Platform Marketing invests -- recommending where to shift spend, when to double down, and what to cut based on what is driving results
Own the annual and in-year budget process end-to-end: build the investment case, defend allocation in company-wide planning, and manage forecast cycles as priorities evolve
Continuously evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing investment and drive the reallocation
Leverage AI tools to build real-time budgeting dashboards and automate reporting, freeing up capacity for higher-order analysis and strategy in partnership with the finance team.
2. Operating Rhythm, Scale & Operational Excellence
Design and run the CMO's business cadence: leadership agendas, performance reviews, QBRs, annual planning, all-hands meetings, and team offsites — keeping the org connected, aligned, and moving
Build durable, scalable operating frameworks and best practices that the org can rely on year over year -- not just maintaining rhythm, but building infrastructure that scales with the team
Proactively identify areas of operational inefficiency and lead the fixes to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve how the org operates
Establish and hold accountability around 3/1 year planning cycles with setting clear owners, milestones, and success measures
3. Stakeholder Influence & Executive Communications
Own the Platform Marketing narrative end-to-end — pulling together the data, building the story, and delivering sharp, executive-ready communications that answer 'how are we performing, where are we headed, and why it matters
Build and maintain high-trust relationships across Finance, Sales, Product Marketing, and GBSG— acting as the connective tissue that keeps Platform Marketing aligned cross-functionally
Get ahead of the questions before they're asked — identify where leadership needs a clear recommendation, do the work, and show up with a data-backed answer
