As a Senior Architect, you are a trusted Guidewire leader across Guidewire’s most complex customer implementations. You’ll guide overall solution strategy, lead architectural governance, and ensure delivery success by aligning client goals with scalable, maintainable Guidewire solutions.
You will act as a cross-functional thought partner—working closely with Engagement Managers, customer executives, developers, and product teams. Your experience and influence will shape critical decisions, drive technical standards, and support continuous improvement across projects.
This is a key role for someone who excels in architecture, leadership, and building confidence with stakeholders across large-scale, enterprise programs.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture
Own the end-to-end technical architecture across one or more large programs or portfolios
Lead discovery and design workshops with customers to understand business and technical needs
Architect complex solutions across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Guidewire Cloud Platform
Define reusable design patterns conforming to best practices that support long-term maintainability
Align solutions with customer cloud strategy, data needs, performance requirements, and security standards
Configure key components, including user interfaces, business rules, workflows, and entity models
Leverages AI tools to drive productivity improvements and drives innovation in the application of AI to enhance the delivery of Guidewire’s products and services
Technical Leadership and Governance
Provide technical direction and mentoring to Architects, Lead Consultants, and Developers
Review and validate implementation designs and configurations
Anticipate technical risks and proactively design mitigation strategies
Lead architectural governance processes for a functional / technical track to ensure consistent quality
Support Guidewire and customer teams in troubleshooting complex or systemic issues
Strategic Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer architecture and leadership teams
Present technical solutions and roadmaps to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Support pre-sales and proposal efforts by reviewing estimates, and architecture viability
Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Cloud teams to resolve product questions and surface roadmap needs
Internal Impact and Enablement
Contribute to internal architecture standards, playbooks, and reusable solution assets
Mentor junior Architects and help develop technical leadership across the PS organisation
Participate in architecture forums and knowledge-sharing sessions across regions
Represent Professional Services in cross-functional strategic initiatives or internal pilots
KPIs & Success Metrics
Architectural Excellence – Solutions meet performance, security, and scalability goals across large or complex programs
Stakeholder Confidence & Influence – Trusted advisor status with clients, evidenced by positive feedback and solution adoption
Delivery Support & Risk Mitigation – Reduced delivery issues due to effective oversight and early risk identification
Key Skills & Experience
Experience in enterprise software architecture, with relevant delivery lead experience
Deep expertise in Guidewire or similar products and architecture (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter)
Strong command of Java, Gosu, REST APIs, cloud-native architecture
Proven ability to design and scale solutions across multiple workstreams or regions
Skilled in leading architectural governance and code/design review processes
Experience in translating business needs into long-term technology strategies
Effective communicator with customer program management, architects, and development teams
Proficiency in Agile delivery and hybrid cloud implementation strategies
Involvement in pre-sales, including reviewing architectural viability
Ability to lead and inspire others through collaboration
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Preferred Skills & Experience
Multiple Guidewire certifications, including Cloud or Architect credentials
Experience leading multi-region or multi-vendor delivery programs
Expertise in Guidewire Cloud Platform
Knowledge of insurance enterprise systems and core domain processes
Experience leading digital transformation or cloud migration programs
Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and performance architecture
Strong DevOps awareness and cloud automation experience
Contributions to internal frameworks, accelerators, or reusable architecture assets
