This role will be based in our Atlanta office, on a in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to our Litigation Shareholder.
Position Summary:
The Junior Paralegal provides assistance to litigation attorneys and paralegals, primarily in the area of discovery and trial. This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares document productions
Proofreads briefs and other legal documents
Drafts routine correspondence/memorandum and discovery requests/responses
Maintains case and document databases, updates files
Basic document review and light research
Supports trial preparation efforts including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, working with witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars
Conducts review of parties' discovery including preparation of subpoenas and related motions
Factual research and development, utilizing electronic research tools and in some cases working with vendors
Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization

Education & Prior Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent experience considered
Certified Paralegal a plus
One to three years of litigation experience; law firm experience is preferred
Technology
Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
E-filing and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Concordance, and Live Note preferred
Exceptional computer and internet research skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
