You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.
As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.
As a designer on Emerging Experiences UX, you will shape the design and execution of some of Google Maps’ most critical surfaces, impacting billions of users every month. Our team operates like a startup within the Geo Consumer UX organization, moving quickly to embrace ambiguity and use emerging technologies to reimagine how people discover, understand, and navigate the real world. Our mission is to shift Maps into an AI-powered immersive companion that empowers confident real-world decision-making by leveraging gen-AI and anticipating user needs through adaptive, proactive experiences.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $109000 - $156000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Design innovative end-to-end product experiences from concept through launch.
Collaborate effectively with Product Management, Engineering, Research, Data Science, and Content teams.
Leverage emerging technologies, interaction models, and AI capabilities to create novel user experiences.
Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs that communicate a compelling goal.
Use rapid prototyping and experimentation to test ideas and learn quickly.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of interaction design experience in product design or UX Design.

Preferred qualifications:
1 year of experience leading design projects.
Experience with user-centered design methodologies.
Experience creating prototypes or applying GenAI tools.
Experience executing an end-to-end design process.
Experience designing consumer-facing digital products.
Strong visual design skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
1 year of interaction design experience in product design or UX Design.
