Be responsible for overseeing the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet's companies in the Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain (GIPS) sub-region.

Perform regular in-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records, while preparing, analysing and posting journals at month end.

Balance sheet management, review reconciliations of key balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for the same. Ensure the internal control environment is robust.

Identify process and strategic improvement opportunities by leveraging AI, scripts, and automation tools to streamline financial reporting workflows, reduce manual intervention, and enhance the function's overall value proposition.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.

Professional qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

4 years of experience in an accounting function working with accounting principles, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), or related international accounting standards.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience of business partnering with strong problem-solving and investigative abilities.

Track record in utilizing AI, scripts, or advanced automation tools to enhance financial reporting and control environments.

Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives.

Ability to manage a varied workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness and a high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
