Description: Fox Rothschild has an opening in the Washington, D.C. office for an aviation attorney in the Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will have six to ten years of general litigation experience and a strong interest in aviation. This role is suited for an attorney interested in serving as a trusted adviser to clients on aviation and aerospace related disputes, regulatory administrative and enforcement matters, investigations, airport and aircraft security, commercial agreements and transactions, and employment issues. We are not accepting resumes from search firms for this position at this time.
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) required. Must be licensed to practice in the District of Columbia.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience in the aviation, transportation, and/or government contracts industries preferred but not required.
Pilot experience preferred.
Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.
Experience drafting and arguing motions and taking and defending depositions.
Strong research skills, writing skills, and academic record are required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic litigation team.
Law firm experience preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position applies to Washington, DC. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $245,000 – $280,000.
