Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 14 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking an experienced Professional Liability Paralegal for our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review and analyze medical records for preparation of medical chronologies
File documents with courts
Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys
Organization and management of documents, including managing spreadsheets and retrieval systems
Act as liaison among various parties including court for scheduling and sharing information
Coordinate the collection, review and production of documents and respond to discovery requests
Assist with conducting research and investigating facts
Assist with trial preparation including assembly of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for depositions and court filings
Coordination of large-scale document jobs with Office Services
Performs other related duties as assigned

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to function well in a high paced environment
Knowledge of legal terminology and U.S. legal system
Aptitude for learning new applications, systems and processes
Proficient with electronic court filing
Proficient with Microsoft Office365
Proficient with document management systems, iManage preferred
Proficient in ShareFile and Kroll preferred
Extensive experience with reviewing and organizing medical records
Med Mal experience is preferred
Education and Experience:
High school degree or equivalent required; college degree or Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience
Minimum two years substantive experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm setting
