As a&nbsp;Senior&nbsp;Materials &amp; Process engineer, you will help accelerate the adoption and qualification of new manufacturing processes through first principles materials engineering and robust qualification testing.&nbsp;
<h2>The Role</h2>
<ul>
<li>Act as a subject matter expert&nbsp;(SME)&nbsp;in&nbsp;L-PBF&nbsp;alloy metallurgical evaluation and&nbsp;microstructure&nbsp;characterization, supporting&nbsp;high-priority improvements to printed material capability&nbsp;and consistency&nbsp;</li>
<li>Define and execute material qualification test plans and generate corresponding material&nbsp;allowables&nbsp;for design&nbsp;</li>
<li>Perform process development and qualification for onboarding of new&nbsp;materials and&nbsp;manufacturing&nbsp;processes&nbsp;</li>
<li>Write and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;engineering specifications for materials, processes, and testing&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support material related quality monitoring tools and&nbsp;lead / execute&nbsp;root cause investigations&nbsp;</li>
<li>Collaborate, as M&amp;P&nbsp;focal,&nbsp;in integrated product teams&nbsp;(IPTs)&nbsp;on development and delivery of new products&nbsp;</li>
<li>Engage in&nbsp;component&nbsp;design process to provide solutions to customer material&nbsp;requirements including delivering&nbsp;component&nbsp;specific testing&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
<h2>Basic Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls&nbsp;</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in materials science or engineering, or related field&nbsp;</li>
<li>5+ years of experience executing material qualifications&nbsp;and writing technical specifications&nbsp;</li>
<li>5+ years of experience working with hardware in a manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience with,&nbsp;and ability to interpret,&nbsp;aerospace and defense requirements&nbsp;-&nbsp;including industry standards such as AMS, ASTM, and MIL specifications&nbsp;</li>
<li>Expertise&nbsp;in one of the following;&nbsp;additive manufacturing, metallurgy,&nbsp;heat&nbsp;treatment&nbsp;or forgings/castings.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Ability to carry up to 25&nbsp;lbs&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree or doctorate in materials science or engineering, or related field.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Comprehensive knowledge&nbsp;of&nbsp;materials&nbsp;mechanical behavior, such as&nbsp;fatigue and fracture&nbsp;– including experience with MMPDS fundamentals&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience with&nbsp;NADCAP or other auditing&nbsp;methodology&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Familiarity with laboratory material tests such as metallographic evaluation, powder characterization,&nbsp;thermoanalytical&nbsp;testing, tensile testing, etc.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficient with 3D Modeling in Teamcenter / NX&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Mix of office, laboratory, and industrial environment. May work with powders, chemicals, and machining equipment.&nbsp;</li>
