As a Senior Business Analyst – Payment Solutions at Checkout, you will perform a vital technical function, delving into the implementation of specific payment rails and understanding the nuances of the numerous payment choices and features offered. This role requires specialized competencies beyond traditional product management and is key to CKO being a differentiator in the payments landscape.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of both Cards and Local Payment Methods (APMs). Global payments are intricate and dynamic; you will manage this complexity to help businesses reach hundreds of different markets in ways tailored to their local needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Project Leadership: Lead technical projects with card schemes and APM partners to rollout new acquiring regions, launch new payment methods, and implement new payment options for merchants.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, accounting, treasury, legal, compliance, and product teams to lay out testing plans and complete provider technical certifications.
Rules Interpretation & Discovery: Gather information on new features—whether driven by commercial requests, card schemes, or APM providers—and present clear descriptions of implementation requirements and processing rule interpretations to the product team.
Operational & Back-Office Support: Support internal operations teams in maintaining and troubleshooting processes such as merchant onboarding, scheme registration, clearing, and settlement.
Knowledge Dissemination: Act as a subject matter expert, sharing payment knowledge throughout the organization to ensure merchant-facing teams can accurately answer complex queries.
Innovation: Proactively engage with schemes and partners to bring fresh ideas and innovative payment solutions while maintaining Checkout’s high processing standards.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst or in a relevant payments processing role within financial services, ideally working closely with engineering teams.
Domain Expertise: Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods, and general Payments Processing is highly recommended.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to use technical tools such as APIs, Postman, and DataDog is highly valuable.
Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
Tools: Proficiency with BI tools (Excel, Looker) and SQL is a significant plus.
Communication: Fluency in English with superb communication skills at all levels.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
Mindset: A self-starter with a willingness to take initiative, continuously learn, and meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment with shifting priorities.
Even if you don't meet all the stated requirements, we encourage you to apply. If you believe you have the potential and are up for the challenge, we would be delighted to speak with you. Should this be the case, please include a cover letter with your application.
