Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Review and analyze potential conflicts of interest associated with new clients, new matters, lateral attorney hires, and other business opportunities.
Conduct complex conflicts analyses in accordance with applicable rules of professional conduct and firm policies, including identification of legal, business, and reputational risks and provision of practical recommendations.
Draft conflict waivers, ethical screens, and related documentation, and coordinate with attorneys, firm leadership, and clients to obtain required consents.
Maintain accurate and complete conflicts records, including resolving discrepancies and ensuring the integrity of conflicts data within firm systems.
Review intake materials and support the client and matter onboarding process to ensure compliance with firm policies and efficient conflicts clearance.
Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals to resolve conflicts and client acceptance issues while balancing risk considerations with business objectives.
Escalate complex or high-risk conflicts issues to the Assistant General Counsel or designated firm leadership.
Maintain working knowledge of conflicts-related systems and technologies (including Intapp Open and Intapp Walls) and leverage them effectively in daily operations.
Stay current on legal ethics, conflicts law, and professional responsibility rules, as well as firm procedures and best practices related to conflicts and risk management.
Participate in after-hours coverage as needed, including responding to urgent conflicts matters outside normal business hours.
This position may be structured as hybrid or fully remote, with residence required within a commutable distance of the applicable office.
Qualifications:
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Experience
Minimum of 5–8 years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm, professional services firm, or in-house legal department.
Direct, full-time conflicts experience at a large law firm is preferred.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying Rules of Professional Conduct across multiple jurisdictions is preferred.
Prior experience in an AMLAW 200 or similarly complex law firm environment is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.

Demonstrated ability to manage, track, and prioritize a high volume of responsibilities, communications, and conflicts requests in a fast-paced environment.
Deep understanding of legal ethics, conflicts of interest, and professional responsibility principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex legal and business issues and develop practical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Sound judgment and discretion, with a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, firm leadership, and business professionals.
