What You'll Do At Avalara, we are building the future of global commerce by simplifying complex tax and integration challenges so our customers can focus on growth. As the technical heart of Versori's USA commercial team, you will sit at the intersection of sales and product, translating complex customer integration requirements into seamless Versori solution designs. You will report to the Director of Sales, Versori, in a fully remote capacity (#LI-Remote). You will be the most technically credible voice in the room during customer calls and an essential feedback channel for our product team. You'll empower the team with an AI-forward, mindset —finding smarter ways to use automation, refine complex workflows, and help customers scale their businesses with Versori. What Your Responsibilities Will Be Partner with the Account Executive team on strategic deals requiring technical discovery, dedicated scoping, and solution design. Lead the technical elements of discovery calls to understand the customer's existing system landscape, data volumes, and technical constraints. Design comprehensive Versori solutions that address specific integration requirements, including connector architecture, data flow mapping, and tenant structure. Deliver compelling, customized live product demonstrations tailored to the customer's unique use case and technical environment. Build proof-of-concept integrations for strategic deals to prove real-world capabilities before contract signature. Draft the technical sections of commercial proposals, including solution architecture descriptions, specifications, and implementation timelines. Support the Partnerships Lead with technical scoping conversations for the Avalara partner free build program. What You’ll Need To Be Successful 5 or more years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or integration consulting role. Hands-on expertise with integration platforms, API management tools, middleware, or workflow automation products. Read, write, and reason about API specifications (such as REST, GraphQL, and webhooks) and data transformation logic. Experience navigating ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) or retail commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud). Distill and pitch complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Practical experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures. Pay Range Details The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Colorado $106,480 - $165,200 annually Washington $106,480 - $182,640 annually California $106,480 - $199,200 annually NYC $117,840 - $199,200 annually The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on multiple factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, and market and business considerations. This role is eligible for the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or use, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
