What You'll Do As a Sr Analyst - Tax & Compliance, you will help customers navigate tax compliance requirements by serving as a bridge between customers and other teams. You will join the Wrangler team, a collaborative group that helps accelerate issue resolution, expand compliance expertise, and improve the customer experience. You will lead customer inquiries through resolution, support accurate tax filings, and help customers use Avalara's solutions. Working within the Compliance team, you will partner with teams across the business to improve customer outcomes, simplify processes, and use AI to work more effectively. You will report to the Manager, Tax Compliance and work onsite from Pune, India (#LI-Onsite). What Your Responsibilities Will Be You will complete and submit multi-jurisdictional tax returns across multiple tax types with accuracy and timeliness. You will oversee customer cases from research through resolution, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes. You will manage case volumes and priorities to meet service level commitments. You will communicate with customers, other teams, and tax jurisdictions to resolve issues and set clear expectations. You will troubleshoot compliance matters, identify causes, and recommend solutions. You will partner with teams across the business to improve resolution speed and customer outcomes. You will identify opportunities to improve processes, automate repetitive work, and increase efficiency. What You’ll Need To Be Successful Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. 1–3 years of indirect tax experience and 2+ years of experience in case management, compliance operations or customer-facing support roles. Experience using AI tools to improve research, communication, workflow efficiency, or process automation.
