Key details
Why this role is notable
Amazon's tax division is creating a central team whose job is to take AI tools built by non-engineers ('citizen builders') into production and own them operationally, signaling that the bottleneck for enterprise AI adoption has shifted from building prototypes to supporting and securing them at scale.
Job Description
This is a foundational role where you will define the operational standards for Tax's AI portfolio and directly unblock demand from teams waiting to adopt solutions that lack dedicated production ownership today.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will review architectures with original builders, address AI-specific security requirements (threat modeling, prompt injection mitigations, data handling controls), refactor for scalability, create technical documentation, and build a reusable pattern library that accelerates every subsequent solution. You will deploy AI solutions to production infrastructure, configure monitoring and alerting, establish incident response runbooks, manage security patching, and serve as the named on-call owner. You will onboard new consuming teams and provide operational health reporting. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
