The Alexa Shopping group is seeking a talented engineer to help build and drive the evolution of Routing Technology across Alexa's shopping ecosystem. You'll work on the horizontal technology that orchestrates how requests route to specialized shopping verticals, enabling seamless experiences from product discovery to post-purchase on Alexa. In this role, you will build the next generation of AI-driven routing technology.
You will build and operate highly scalable systems to power delightful shopping experiences across various Alexa-powered devices. You will work closely with multiple partner teams across Alexa to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience.
About the team
We are Foundational Routing Technology team, part of Alexa Shopping in Seattle. We own the routing layer upstream of every Alexa Shopping experience: the technology that decides which specialized shopping capability answers each customer request
The work carries outsized reach. A single routing change shifts traffic across the entire shopping ecosystem, which means high ownership, careful engineering, and visible impact
This is hands-on AI engineering, not AI-adjacent. We design, evaluate, and operate LLM-based systems end to end, and we are a senior-heavy team, so there are people to learn from quickly and room to shape technical direction Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
