About the Role :
Amazon is seeking a motivated and analytical professional to coordinate First Mile Mechanisms and Peak Planning within the Transportation team. As a Transportation Mechanism Specialist, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing performance metrics, and leading cross-functional planning initiatives — ensuring the First Mile operation is prepared for both routine performance and peak season demands.
This role requires a strong ability to work with large volumes of data, communicate results to senior leadership, and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
Key job responsibilities
Coordinate weekly and monthly reports and meetings for the First Mile transportation team with key stakeholders
Drive action plans with stakeholders with a customer-backwards focus
Identify and propose improvements to routine management mechanisms
Manage and analyze performance metrics, generating insights to support decision-making
Report First Mile area results to senior leaders
Work with large volumes of data and big data tools in a highly complex business environment
Analyze volume projections for peak seasons and drive preparation plans for high-demand periods
Build Post-Peak Season Lessons Learned documents and drive post-event action plans
Conduct dive deeps to identify root causes of gaps impacting customer experience and speed, especially during peak periods
Manage operational planning for atypical periods such as holidays, coordinating with Seller Ops, Transportation, and system configuration teams
Build and consolidate the annual First Mile transportation plan across business areas
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience leading process improvements
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
