Join AAFCPAs as a Senior Accountant in Audit and play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients. We are seeking an experienced audit professional with strong affordable housing audit experience. In this role, you will manage multifaceted and complex assignments for a variety of clients and businesses while guiding other team members in the same. You will collaborate as appropriate with AAFCPAs’ multidisciplinary team to meet clients’ evolving needs, sharing accountability with the manager and partner in ensuring timely and accurate service delivery and optimal client satisfaction. You will also lead audit engagement teams with an emphasis on clear communication, collaboration, and flexibility while ensuring deliverables are provided at agreed upon timelines.

Core Competencies
Technical Skills
BS/BA degree – concentration in Accounting and active pursuit of CPA
3+ years of auditing experience with a public accounting firm
Ability to work independently on assignments and address issues or questions with the client, engagement Manager or Partner.
Strong time management, organizational abilities, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Engagement and Pro F/X is a plus
Experience with multi-service community development corporations (CDCs) or Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) with Uniform Guidance reporting requirements preferred
- Specialized experience in Federal Tax Credit Incentive Programs is highly preferred, including:Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)
- New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC)
- Historic Tax Credit (HTC)
- Solar Investment Tax Credits (ITC)
- LIHTC and partnership tax experience is a plus
What We Offer
The salary range for this position reflects a broad set of factors considered in compensation decisions, including—but not limited to—skills, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. The stated range has not been adjusted for geographic differentials that may apply based on the position’s location. At AAFCPAs, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are based on each candidate’s specific background and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $89,000 – $ 104,000 per year not inclusive of bonus potential.
**Please note that while this position is remote, occasional travel to client locations, corporate meetings and trainings may be required to facilitate effective collaboration and engagement implementation.
